The State of the City: Lethbridge 2017

The mayor of Lethbridge, Chris Spearman, recently met with residents in January to discuss the state of Lethbridge by reflecting on a successful 2016 year while also looking forward to a promising year in 2017.

“We do have a steady economy,” Spearman said. “It’s better to have that than a roller-coaster economy. It allows for better planning and certainly creates, I think, a high level of business confidence in the city.”

Lethbridge saw some exciting infrastructure additions around the city including the huge renovation of Hendersen Pool, the ATB Centre in Crossings, and the new Multicultural Centre in the Downtown area. Continuing projects for 2017 include both the ATB Centre Phase 2 and Commerical Areas in Crossings, Downtown redevelopment & the U of L Destination Project, as well as the completion of Phase 1 of the 73 Acre Regional Park.

Lethbridge also saw $1 billion in investments in 2016, to a number of projects:

Lethbridge is an exciting place to live, work and play:

Lethbridge is poised to have an exciting year in 2017. From Billion Dollar Investments to a population nearing 100,000, Lethbridge is planning for a lot of growth in the city. Lethbridge was also named to the top of a few lists regarding doing business in the city:
